“Ask, and it is given.”
That seems easy and appealing, doesn't it? Well let me be the person to tell you...it is. But there's a catch, as with many of the great things in life.
So you want a hundred bucks. So what? A lot of people want a hundred bucks. Ah, but you need the hundred bucks because the bills were high this month, and you need to keep gas in your car. Not to mention that newest tech toy is looking mighty fine...and mighty expensive. Okay. So how do you get your one hundred bucks? Well you didn't come here to read about marketing strategies, or budgeting, so I'm not going to waste time with that. Let's talk LoA.
I'm putting it in steps for the ease, and sanity, so bear with me:
Step 1: Have the desire. Well most people who end up here already did this part. But if not, think hard (or not so hard). Ask yourself, “What on Earth do I want?”
Step 2: Ask for it. You can pray, write it down, think it, spray paint it on your house, spell it with your Alphabet Refrigerator magnets, blog it—the list goes on and on. Whatever way you do it (and do it just once—see below), state intentionally WHAT you DO want. Only that. There will be more on negative statements later.
Step 3: Trust that you'll get it. It's a law. That means it works. If you call for it, you'll get it. So let it go. If you really trust the system, you'll go about your life. If you ask, and then ask again, and again, and then just for safe measure, you know, in case you weren't heard, ask once more—nothing is going to happen. Trust me, the universe (God, creator, source, whatever name you give) heard you the first time. You'll get what you asked for. But only when it is right. Only when you are ready. So if you are constantly asking for the same thing, you're really saying, “I still want this, I want this, I'm not ready for it yet though because I'm still ASKING for it.” Let it go!
Step 4: Use your tools. Now you could possibly get confused here. “Now Delia, didn't you just say not to ask more than once? Aren't the tools re-asking?” No. Not really. Sure, if you use a vision board, for example, you are reminded daily of the things that you have asked for, but it's different. This is your visualization. If you visualize yourself as already having your wants, seeing yourself happy with the results, that's essentially saying, “Hey, look, I already see myself with it; I GOT THIS.” So you aren't asking for it, rather you already feel like it's yours. So you'll get it.
Step 5: Receive it. You got it! Yay!
Step 6: Gratitude. Don't be a jerk. Be thankful for what you have allowed yourself to get. Just say 'thank you for ____' and while you're at it, say thank you for all that other stuff you get to enjoy everyday but never think about. You know, like breathing...It never hurts to be grateful. You'll feel good. If you feel good, then you'll be ready to start in on the next thing. Plus, you know it works now! So everything becomes golden.
Then you start over. It's like a cycle. Eventually you'll have everything that you could possibly want, right? Great stuff.
So what was the catch? I mean, all of that is simple. Nothing new. But the catch is that most people don't make it past step 2. Why? They don't let go. No trust. I urge you—trust and let go! You don't have to, but it's probably worth your while to try. But how? Just K.I.S.S.(The second S is for Smarty! 'Cuz if you're using LoA, "stupid" should not be in your vocab.) After you ask, go about your way with something you enjoy. Let that distract you, and enjoy yourself. I find that when I'm happy doing something that's fun, I simply don't bother thinking about what I could use more of, or what I wish I had.
And that's it! I mean there are whole conventions about this stuff. There's books and websites and workshops, classes...but that's the basic point of it. If you want to, give it a try. There's a lot of information about the Law of Attraction, just do a Google search. I will be providing link to useful sites as well as time goes on.
